What do you do when you find an angel with a broken wing?
There are only two things Jelly likes about the new house on Rosemary Street: the old apricot tree and the creek over the back fence.
One night, Jelly and her cousins spot something in the creek's dark waters. At first they think it's a bird, but it isn't...it's a baby angel with a broken wing. They decide to keep it. But Jelly soon discovers that you can't just take something from where it belongs and expect that it won't be missed.
Sally Rippin's Angel Creek is a book about being brave and selfish and tough and scared. It's a book about an angel, about growing up. And about the amazing things that happen in the summer before high school begins.
Sally Rippin was born in Darwin and grew up in South-East Asia. Sally has written and illustrated many books for children, including titles from the Go Girl and Aussie Bites series and the popular Fang Fang stories. Great Children's Novel
By WhitneyS
Sally Rippins newest novel is touching, mysterious, on the edge of eerie, and sure to entertain young readers. Jelly has just moved with her parents to a new house in the suburb. The only thing she likes about her new home is the old apricot tree and the wild creek behind her house. But there's something scary in the creek, and Jelly can't figure out what it is until she gets a close up look at what couldn't possibly be an injured, baby angel, but is. Jelly soon discovers that keeping something trapped inside only brings about misery to her entire household.
This novel is full of deep emotion, mystery, and a captivating drama.
